Welcome to the Food for Thought Blog

Welcome!

It all starts with food. We're born, we take a deep breath, and then take our first bit of nourishment. Later, we are introduced to all sorts of tastes, textures, seasonings, spices, and styles of cooking. Our culture is revolving around the art of eating. There are entire networks devoted to developing food stars, celebrity chefs, and good eats gurus. Cookbooks take up entire sections of bookstores, and the web is inundated with recipes and quick fix meals.

And then there are the restaurants...ahhh the restaurants! Houses of the succulent and savory, shops of sugar and spice - these are the places we all gather to discuss our lives and politics and of course, to eat.

This is where my story will begin. I love food! I love cooking food, I love buying food, and of course I love to consume food. Whether it is gourmet or down home comfort style, it is the basis of all my happiness and joy. (As is my husband and son, but as I can't consume them, I will have to leave them out of this equation for the moment.)

So my idea is simple. I eat food, I write about it. I cook food, I write about it. Maybe I will be the only person to ever view this work, besides my family members that I force to. Or maybe a few other fellow foodies will find some interest, but for me, this is my food outlet that will allow all of my ecstasy, enjoyment, and maybe occasional disappointment to come forth.
